SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association.
Maher was sent from the dug-outs at Roots Hall just before half-time of Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Yeovil Town.
And the FA have now confirmed the Shrimpers chief will face further punishment.
A statement from the FA confirmed: "Kevin Maher has been charged with misconduct following Southend United’s match against Yeovil Town in the National League on Saturday 9 November.
It’s alleged that the head coach’s behaviour around the 20th and 48th minutes was improper, which led to his dismissal, and he has until Monday 18 November to provide a response."
It is understood Maher was dismissed from the dug-out for raising his arms when appealing for a penalty.
