SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher has heaped praise on Gus Scott-Morriss ahead of the wing-back's 100th appearance for the club.
Scott-Morriss will clock up a century for Blues when he takes to the field against Altrincham this weekend.
And Maher believes the 27-year-old has made a big impact on and off the pitch since signing.
"We watched Gus at Hemel," recalled Maher.
"John (Still) went to watch him, I went to watch him and we all said yes without a shadow of a doubt.
"Once he adapted to full time football you could see the levels he's got to.
"I'm delighted with everything he's done since he's been here.
"He's a big character around the place and he's a good player who has been brilliant for us.
"I'm sure he will continue to be as well too."
