KYE Jude is confident Basildon United will soon get their season back on track.
The Bees have slipped to eighth in the Isthmian North standings after suffering three league defeats in succession.
But Jude remains certain Basildon can bounce back.
“It’s been very frustrating due to a mixture of reasons but I’m very confident with the squad that we have we can get back to winning ways,” said Jude.
“We had a bright start to the season however we’ve had a slight lapse recently.
“We’ve had a mixture of tough games and some injuries but we have been working hard to put things right.”
Basildon had been hoping to end their losing run at home to Sporting Bengal United last night.
But, after heavy rain overnight, the match was called off after a pitch inspection yesterday morning.
And Jude was disappointed the game did not go ahead.
“It was a real shame the weather meant we couldn’t play the game,” said Jude.
“I think it would’ve been a good match.
“Sporting Bengal have been on a run of good form recently so it would’ve been a tough game but it was one we were looking forward to.
“We would certainly have been aiming for all three points but there isn’t anything we could do about it.
“We’ll turn our attentions towards Saturday now and look to win that one instead.”
Basildon travel to 17th placed Mildenhall Town this weekend.
And the Bees make the trip with Jude still believing Chris Taylor’s team have what it takes to push for a top five finish.
“I would like to think we can stay in and around the play offs with the bright start we have had,” said Taylor.
“We are aware it’s going to be tough but we need to be consistent week in week out and take each game as it comes.”
Basildon are currently two points behind Grays Athletic who occupy the final play-off place at this stage of the season.
However, their match was not the only one to be hit by the wet weather in Isthmian North last night.
Ipswich Wanderers’ clash at home to Brentwood Town was also postponed along with Tilbury’s match against Walthamstow which had been due to take place at Chadfields.
