ECHOSPORT talks to Forest Green Rovers fan Evan Smith ahead of this afternoon's game at Roots Hall.

Forest Green are currently top of the table. What have you made of the start to the season?

"Forest Green’s start of the season has been really quite impressive considering back to back regulation seasons.

"The win last weekend against York City was probably the best result of the season so far."

How confident are you of promotion this season?

"After last weekend's result, a 2-0 win against York, I'm probably more confident than I would have previously thought so now I think we will win the national league title."

You signed Harry Cardwell from Southend earlier on in the season. How has he been doing for Forest Green so far?

"Harry Cardwell has done reasonably well for us so far.

"It took him a while to warm up to our style of play but once he did that he became good, particularly his goal at Eastleigh.

"He is a good player in and around the penalty area but also defensively very sharp but hasn’t played loads of minutes."

Who is the dangerman?

"Forest Green’s danger man for me is Kyle McAllister because he has chipped in with lots of goals and assists.

"He is a player who should be able to play at Championship or League One level."

What's the team news?

"Ryan Inniss is back from his three game suspension, Liam Sercombe is still injured for a sightly longer period than this weekend and I understand Jacob Maddox is out for 10 to 12 weeks but not sure when that started.

"Emmanuel Osadbe should be also back available for the weekend after been after a few weeks on the sidelines with injury."
