CONCORD Rangers will be bidding to bounce back from Saturday’s disappointment when they host Felixstowe & Walton United tonight.

The Beach Boys had to settle for a 2-2 draw at Maldon & Tiptree after conceding a late equaliser six minutes into stoppage time.

And skipper Lewis Jaggs securing just a share of the spoils felt like a defeat.

“The conditions we were playing in were extremely tough but we started strongly and we responded well to their first goal so I was confident in a win,” said Jaggs.

“That’s why conceding the equaliser at the end felt more like a loss than just a draw.”

Concord now sit 13th in the Isthmian North standings.

And he is looking forward to getting straight back into action against third placed Felixstowe.

“Felixstowe will be a tough fixture as are all the fixtures in the league,” said Jaggs.

“I’ve played against them in the past in previous teams and we’ve had some great results so I’m looking forward to it.”

But longer term, Jaggs has high hopes for the remainder of the season.

“It’s still very close in the table but the target for this season is the play-offs,” said Jaggs.

“With the group we have, it’s achievable until it’s mathematically out of reach.”

Elsewhere tonight, Bowers & Pitsea head to Cray Valley PM.

Bowers are 20th in the table with Cray Valley second.
