BILLERICAY Town fought back to beat Horsham 2-1 at New Lodge.
Horsham opened the scoring in the 36th minute with Shamir Fenelon on target.
But Billericay recovered after the break with goals from Todd Miller and Femi Akinwande securing them all three points.
And boss Gary McCann told the club's YouTube channel it was a game of two contrasting halves.
“I wasn’t overly pleased with the first half performance,” said McCann who made a trio of changes at the break.
“We started OK and showed some good touches and moments.
“We got into good positions but once they got a grip of the game I felt we showed them far too much respect.
“We were far too passive and we didn’t get to grips with it first half.
“We were a yard off it but credit has to go to the opposition as well because I thought they were excellent.”
However, McCann was pleased with Billericay’s response after the break.
“We addressed it at half-time and outside of the first five or 10 minutes, we were much more like ourselves with a better identity,” said McCann.
"It’s like the perfect second half performance.
“The subs who have come on have made a difference and there were some heroic performances.
“It’s a good win against a good team.”
Billericay are now third in the Isthmian Premier Division, six points behind table-topping Dover Athletic.
In Isthmian North, Basildon United drew 1-1 at home to Felixstowe & Walton with Karl Kayembe on target.
The Bees are now 13th in the table.
In the Essex Senior League, Hullbridge Sports lost 5-0 at home to Saffron Walden Town.
