WITH no let-up in the Arctic weather, non-league and parks football in south-east Essex looks like suffering a complete white-out this weekend.
That’s particularly serious for Billericay Town in the Ryman Premier.
Still in the League Cup, they have 26 of their 42 league games to go.
And, with only 15 weeks of the season remaining from this weekend, Town are in danger of facing a three-games-a-week schedule unless conditions quickly improve.
They are pencilled in to host Hendon this weekend and manager Brian Statham had promised fans at least one new striker, possibly two, before the game.
Also in the Premier, Canvey Island are due at Ashfiord Town (Mx) with Aveley hosting Hastings United at Mill Field.
In Division One North, East Thurrock were heading for a derby at Brentwood with Tilbury hosting VCD Athletic and Great Wakering visiting Maldon.
But the big game planned is the Concord Rangers home clash with leaders Lowestoft Town.
At a higher level, Grays Athletic are due to continue their Blue Square Premier relegation fight with a home game against Hayes and Yeading.
Grays have had a miserable few weeks and boss, former West Ham legend Julian Dicks has been at his wits end to get his lads to produce the goods. In Blue Square South, Thurrock, fighting for the play-offs, were scheduled for a visit to Dorchester.
In the Essex Senior League, it was due to be Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy semi-final weekend with Basildon United hosting Southend Manor.
In the league, Hullbridge are pencilled in for a trip to Bethnal Green United with Bowers and Pitsea hosting Barking.
The Essex Olympian League programme included a White Ensign and Rayleigh Town double with the first teams due to meet at London Road and the reserves at Eastwoodbury Lane.
On the parks front the Southend Borough Combination and District League tomorrow plus the two domestic Sunday programmes along with the veterans and juniors look like facing more inaction.
