CONCORD joint manager Danny Scopes says they’ll be putting out a strong team tonight as his club look to build on three years of cup success.

The Beach Boys host Dulwich Hamlet in round three of the Championship Manager Cup at Thames Road (kick-off, 7.45pm).

Along with two promotions in the past three years, Concord have reached two county cup finals, won the Gordon Brasted Trophy and East Anglian Cup, and enjoyed a run to the quarter-finals of the FA Vase.

Scopes said: “We have got used to success in the cups.

“At the end of the day you are not going to win the FA Cup, and you have to go some to do well in the FA Trophy.

“So, along with the Essex Senior, this is our best chance of keeping our good cup record going.”

Concord don’t have a game on Saturday and are unlikely to make many changes from the side which beat Folkestone on the weekend.

Skipper Nicky Cowley has a knee problem and will be rested. Midfielders Reece Harris and Marc Sontag, and full-back James Hawes are all pushing for a start.

Dulwich are currently 15th in Ryman One South, and come into the game on the back of two wins.

Elsewhere in the league cup, EAST THURROCK travel to Maldon & Tiptree for the first of two games against them this month. Rocks go to Maldon in the league on November 27.

And AVELEY will have to unusual pleasure of occupying their own away dressing rooms. They face tenants Romford, who are technically the home side. Romford were knocked out in the second round by Tilbury, but then reinstated after Tilbury fielded an ineligible player.

In Ryman One North, 14th-placed GRAYS with look to build on a four-point haul from their last two games when they travel to a Cheshunt side one-place behind them in the table on goal-difference.

And in the Essex Senior Cup, HULLBRIDGE SPORTS will look to bounce back from their weekend FA Vase exit when they host Ryman One North outfit Redbridge.
