NEIL Harris believes playing for Southend United will match anything else he has ever experienced in his illustrious career.
The experienced striker, who has joined Blues from Millwall on a three-year deal, has previously played in the FA Cup final, won the play-offs at Wembley and become the Lions’ record goalscorer.
But he is adamant lining up for his home town club will be just as special.
“Signing for Southend is a boyhood dream coming true for me,” said Harris, 33.
“When I was around nine years old my dad took me to watch the team for the first time and I’ve been coming ever since.
“Even from right back then I had a dream and a vision of one day playing for Southend and it was music to my ears when I found out they wanted to sign me,” the striker added. “I’m delighted it’s finally happened and there really isn’t another club who I would’ve left Millwall to join, so I can’t wait to get started.
“It’s going to be fantastic and will be right up there with the very best moments of my career.”
