THE London and Eastern Skater Hockey Association side had a successful weekend by winning the regional tournament in Farnborough.
The team included three players from the Basildon and Southend Alstarz team — Adam Hawkin, Will Osborne and net-minder Stuart Holder.
It was a hard-fought victory on penalties in the final, with the final penalty shot securing the win.
Team manager Denise Wickert described it as a ‘“glorious win” although her nerves were in shreds by the end.
She congratulated the Basildon and Southend players and described the club as being well and truly on the map. This along with the LESHA youth team win has meant it has been an excellent month for the club.
Basildon and Southend’s Inline team have also been in fine form.
The Alstarz senior A team beat Stansted Giants 11-2 with Glen Bradley scoring a hat-trick.
Marcley Maley and Zack Greaves both got two goals while Chris Wickert, Matt Wickert and Adam Quilter were also on target, along with an own goal.
The Alstarz Juniors then beat Havering Liberators 7-4 with goals from Ali Jay, Will Osborne and Adam Hawkins.
The Senior B team were not as fortunate as they were beaten 8-0 against London Street Warriors.
But the Youth Alstarz saw off Enforcers 8-6, with goals from Curtis Bannister-Pond, Sam Hadden and William Townley.
