CRAIG Easton remains in contract talks with Southend United.
The Blues skipper is facing an uncertain future at Roots Hall after failing to so far agree a new deal.
But, despite reports to the contrary emerging yesterday, the midfielder has not told Blues he will definitely be leaving at this stage.
The Echo can reveal Easton has rejected the club’s first offer of a new contract but negotiations are still continuing.
It is also understood he is keen to stay at Southend.
However, the 32-year-old is attracting interest from other clubs and will be available on a free transfer if he does depart.
