Billericay Boxing Club ended their season with 65 wins from 73 fights.
In another outstanding campaign for the club, their youngsters suffered just eight defeats all year.
The club’s latest bouts came when a team from Wales came over to challenge them in an end-of-sseason dinner show at the Five Lakes Hotel in Tolleshunt Knights, near Maldon.
Two teams from Yorkshire, Syd and White Rose also took part aloingside NSC and Victory from Bristol and Southampton respectively.
The Welsh fighters were all handed a Welsh select team squad vest and so were their English opponents.
Former world featherweight champion Colin McMillan presented the trophies and commented on how well schooled the Billericay boxers were.
“The squad is the strongest I have ever seen since reforming the club that was in ruins just three years ago,” said Les Cooke, the club’s coach.
“The squad now has a further eight boxers that will be registered for next season and we have a full gym of youngsters in our boxing academy that want to be boxing for the team.
“We are also lucky to have had a further three coaches join us recently — former professionals Dennis Adams and Andy Cox, along with ex- Royal Marines boxing instructor Kev Everard.
“On top of that, I would like to praise Brad Davis for his hard work and long hours spent in the gym, getting the boys boxing at a high level.
“Brad has spent hours and hours sorting out sparring sessions at clubs all over England and picking up tips that have improved our boxers’ skills.”
