Billericay ended a week of player movements by staying in the hunt for automatic promotion with this fine win at Hendon.
An 11th-minute penalty from Richard Halle and a strike from Emeka Onwubiko gave them a 2-0 lead, and the hosts added an injury-time consolation through Isaiah Rankin.
It left Town in joint second in the table with AFC Hornchurch with the same points and goal difference total, although Billericay have a game in hand.
And it was a good end to the week for the club who were knocked out of the league cup by lower league Leiston on Wednesday, and saw the departure of two key players.
Midfielder Paul Semakula has left to join Maidenhead United; he decided to make the move because he was facing a five-hour round trip to New Lodge.
And striker David Knight has joined East Thurrock following what the club’s website describes as a “half-time incident in the game with Wealdstone”.
The Echo understands the striker had a argument with Billericay manager Craig Edwards.
But the club have now taken young winger Harrison Chatting off of the transfer list, and he started against Hendon.
A statement from Edwards on the club website says: “As we have always made clear, Harrison is a very important member of the squad.
“He agreed that his reaction to not playing was wrong.
“Since being placed on the transfer list Harrison has really knuckled down and made us realise it would be a mistake to let him go.”
Billericay Town: Brightly, Berry, Swaine, Wild, Collis, Halle, Edwards, Kpaka, Chatting (Ottley 81), May, Onwubike (White 81).
