Canvey Island made the most of Wealdstone being reduced to 10 men as they completed a comeback win which keeps them in touch with the play-off places.
The hosts were the better side in the first half and, after Alan Massey had gone close with a neat flick, Wes Parker headed home unmarked from a David Hicks corner.
And Stones almost made it 2-0 when the prolific Richard Jolly had another header ruled out for a marginal offside.
And after Alex Dyer missed a sitter, it looked like it would only be a matter of time before they extended their lead.
But then midfielder Peter Dean, who had already been booked for diving, received his second yellow and then red for a rash challenge.
And Canvey took control after the restart as they drew level through Jay Curran before they were awarded a penalty following a handball, and Rob King fired home from the spot to seal a win which left them two points off of the top five.
Canvey manager John Batch said: “They had a player sent off just before half-time for two bookings, one for diving and one for a poor tackle. Both were bookings so he had to go.
“They were dominant in the first half, but we were in control in the second, and the most important thing is that we came away with the result.”
Canvey Island: Russell, West, Dumas, King, Sheehan, Easterford, Gordon, Dobinson, Curran, Asante, Rhodes.
