DANNY Greaves’s ill-fated spell in charge of Great Wakering has come to an end after the club accepted his resignation.
He made the decision to quit the Burroughs Park hot seat following their 5-0 drubbing at Brentwood on the weekend.
The former Witham Town boss took over in late October following the resignation of Ryan Wilkinson, and said Rovers should be aiming for promotion.
He made sweeping changes to the side and released stalwart keeper and club captain Louis Godwin-Green.
But Greaves endured a miserable run of results as he lost all of the six games he was in charge, conceding 21 goals and scoring four.
A short statement from the club’s secretary Daniel Ellis said: “We can confirm that Danny Greaves has handed in his resignation and it has been accepted by the committee.
“We wish him all the best for the future and are currently keeping our options open in terms of a replacement.”
Rovers hope to have a manager in place in time for Saturday’s Ryman One North league match against against Chatham Town at Burroughs Park.
