IAN Reynolds claimed a brace of strong finishes at the weekend in two fishing competitions.
The Benfleet matchman finished third in the Kent Series League, a 12-match series where each angler’s eight best results counted, following the final round at Folkestone.
And Reynolds followed it up with victory at the Canvey Island beach open at Scars Elbow.
Reynolds caught 11 whiting, a pouting and a dogfish to take top spot on the island with a total weight of 5lb 1oz. His 43cm dogfish also landed the match regular the largest fish prize.
Second place went to Thundersley’s Martin Lee, who landed six whiting for 3lb 13oz.
Lewis Clark was unable to follow up his win at the Fambridge beach open and was forced to settle for third place on Canvey.
The Rochford matchman caught seven whiting for a 2lb 11oz weight.
The junior winner was Marley Macfayden from Benfleet with four whiting for 1lb 10oz. He also won the junior section at Fambridge.
