JUST 18 days after he was released by Great Wakering, goalkeeper Louis Godwin-Green has returned to the club.
The custodian was released by Danny Greaves, who quit as manager last week, but revealed in last Thursday’s Echo that he would jump at the chance to return to the Ryman One North club where he remains a firm fans’ favourite.
He has been re-signed by caretaker manager Danny Heath, and goes straight into their squad for their league match at Romford on Saturday.
And if he plays it will be his 200th appearance for Rovers, who are yet to appoint a successor to Greaves as manager.
Within an hour of his release by Great Wakering, Godwin-Green was called by Ian Walker and asked to provide keeper cover at his Conference North Bishop’s Stortford side.
And, despite a man-of-the-match showing in his first game against Solihull Moors, he told our sports desk he was desperate for a return to Burroughs Park.
