SOUTHEND United midfielder Michael Timlin feels he is starting to be affected by the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Timlin, who is on loan from Swindon Town, has not been at his best for Blues in his last few outings.
And, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash against Oldham, Timlin insisted it could be down to not knowing where he will be playing in just a few weeks time.
“I always analyse how I’ve played and maybe not knowing about where my future lies has been playing on a mind a bit in the last couple of games,” said Timlin.
“I don’t think about things like that when I’m out on the pitch but afterwards I do wonder if it might have something to do with how I’ve played.
“I want to get back to playing like I was at the start of my loan spell and hopefully I can do that against Oldham tomorrow.”
Timlin has been with Blues since August and has made 16 appearances in the midfield.
But his loan spell expires at the start of January and he does not know where he will be playing in the New Year.
“All I know is that Southend and Swindon are talking at the moment,” said Timlin.
“I’m trying to stay focused on helping the team play well but I do hope things get can sorted out quickly.”
However Timlin is also concentrating on facing Oldham Athletic in the second round of the FA Cup at Roots Hall tomorrow.
And he would love to get another victory.
“We hope to be playing teams like Oldham in the league next season so it will be a good test for us,” said the 28-year-old.
“It would be great to get in to the third round and be drawn against a top team but we know it will be hard.
“We’re playing a lot of games in a short period of time as well but when you’re on a good run like we are the matches really can’t come quickly enough.”
