Westcliff will be looking to build on last weekend’s victory against Bracknell when they travel to London Irish Amateur in National Three London & SE tomorrow.
After suffering four successive defeats, Westcliff finally returned to winning last Saturday.
But, as they bid for more of the same this weekend, their horrendous injury list has not been lightened.
And it may even get worse with scrum George Parmenter suffering from a sore shoulder.
That could lead to debuts for Ben Jones and new signing Joe Maiava but the team will not be finalised until later today.
Westcliff are now 11th in the table after last week’s victory while Irish sit eighth ahead of what could be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
"I saw our colts play them a few seasons ago but if we have played then in the past it must have been in the fifties or the early sixties," said press officer Geoff Sawyer.
"But we played well to beat Bracknell last week and they have already downed London Irish Amateur.
“We are confident in our ability, which is getting better at this level all the time."
Irish have lost three of their five games and Westcliff will be hoping to come out on top as they bid to avoid relegation in their first ever season at this level.
