I THINK it has all the makings of a classic at Shrewsbury Town this weekend.

They have the best home record in the division and we have the best away, so it will be an interesting afternoon.

We know we’re in a for a difficult afternoon but we’re confident without being arrogant about our chances going in to it.

We’re not fussed if we’re playing home or away right now and it was great to get all three points at Northampton last weekend.

It was an eventful and crazy game and even if we had come off the pitch winning 7-5 you could still have said there may have been even more goals.

The match had a little bit of everything: There were mistakes, great saves, great goals and some fine pieces of skill, which eventually led to us coming out on top.

Of course I would loved to have been involved and not be on the bench but we want to promotion this season and if we keep on winning then I’ll be happy.

I train all week because I want to play on the Saturday.

But, at the same time, I also take great pleasure in watching my team-mates do well.

We again fought back from going behind to win, just like we did against AFC Wimbledon, and that again showed how good the team spirit is here.

We have real self-belief now too and if we had gone a goal down like that in the past, or even earlier on in the season, I don’t think we would have bounced back.

We’ve also welcomed in more new signings in the past week and, on first impressions, Jack Sampson and Anthony Flood both seem like great lads.

I’m not sure if they know just yet but they will have to sing to the whole squad this weekend and so will Elliot Benyon and David Martin.

Looking at them I can’t imagine any of them are going to be that great and that’s just what we like.

It’s no fun when the person is actually good at singing and we all look forward to them being really bad!

I’m also very excited about becoming a father for the third time. My wife was due to give birth on Tuesday but we’re still waiting and I’m taking my mobile phone with me everywhere I go.

That means I might have to miss out on the go-karting all the team are doing later today but I’m sure they will have a great time.

I predict Michael Timlin, Dartford Dave (Martin), Anthony Grant, Bilel Mohsni and Ryan Hall will be slightly more aggressive than most and Sean Clohessy will be doing 5mph at the back because he won’t want to waste any petrol!

Alex Woodyard could also make for interesting viewing and I’m not even sure he will be allowed on as go-karts aren’t children friendly!

Hopefully the lads will be able to find the location OK, because that has proved problematic for a few of them this season.

Lee Sawyer was memorably unable to find Thurrock, despite it only being five minutes from his house, and Hally has trouble finding the training ground most days!
