THERE is no let up for Berry Boys boxer Richard Ogunwobi as he steps into the ring again on Saturday for the third weekend on the trot.
The 14-year-old pugilist, who trains at the club in Laindon, has only lost one of his six bouts and will be determined to shine on his home turf.
Ogunwobi’s three-week run started against Jack Farmer of Lion ABC on February 25.
The Basildon fighter won the first two rounds before stepping up the pace in the third.
Farmer dug deep to stay the distance but the bout ended in a clear points win for Ogunwobi.
And it was another points win for the teenage fighter this weekend.
Ogunwobi controlled all three rounds after travelling to Bedfordshire to face Luton Shamrock ABC fighter Ifzan Suleman on his home show.
Ogunwobi’s opponent for this Saturday has yet to be decided, but Berry are hoping it will be one of around 15 contests at their show.
The event is taking place at James Hornsby School, in Leinster Road, Laindon, and will start with a skills bout which will see Jacko Bazely make his first outing.
Other Berry boxers on the card are Ben Eastwood, Rio Emmins, Mitchell Williamson, Cameron Nicholson, Kane “The Train” Steff, Rick Haynes and Danny Harvey.
There will be boxers from other south Essex clubs as well as further afield.
Tickets are available on the door from 6pm, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children aged under 16 and pensioners.
Boxing starts at 7pm and refreshments will be available.
