Basildon ran out comfortable 46-0 winners over Old Streetonians, despite having to field a heavily changed side.

Basildon dominated the game and scored eight unanswered tries to remain second in the table.

They opened the scoring after just 10 minutes when second row Ryan Creasey showed an impressive turn of speed to finish off a break by scrum half Chippy White. Six minutes later outside half J D O'Mahoney dummied his way over under the posts.

Prop Dave Stevens was next on the scoresheet followed by O’Mahoney, again, and two conversions from Brad Johnson put Basildon 24-0 up at half-time.

The home side remained on top after the break and second row John Hickey scored after a break by Johnson.

But Old Streetonians then had their best spell of the match and were unlucky not to cross the Basildon line.

After surviving the spell of pressure, Basildon hit back and prop Jim Harman finished smartly for a well deserved try.

The back row, perhaps jealous of the front five’s success, soon also got in the action with number eight Daniel Kemp and then flanker Joe Green crossing the line.

Johnson added a single conversion to complete the scoring.
