BRIAN Rowe has been announced as the new club president.
Rowe joined Ballards Gore in 1987, two years after taking up the sport.
In 1992 he became vice skipper, before taking over as club captain in 1993.
As members, Rowe and his wife Margaret, a former ladies captain, support the club and attend all golfing and social events.
Rowe will stay in the position for three years.
Last weekend, members at the club played their March Stableford Medal, with extremely different weather condtions for both days.
On a warm March Saturday morning, expectations were high for some good scoring.
In division one Billy Davis (six) had four birdies and came in one under par, gross, scoring 43 points. Andy Jefferson came second with 40 points.
In division two Steve Clapp won with 42 points Keith Branson beat Lee Coker on countback with 41 points to come second.
Despite the freezing rainy conditions on Sunday, the scores were still high.
Mark Beard won the division one section beating Viravong Hongphady on countback with 40 points.
In division two, Rod Smith won with 39 points John Moul came second after beating Tom Jennings on countback with 38 points.
