Westcliff face a tough task in National Three London & SE this weekend as they travel to second placed Tonbridge Juddian.

Tonbridge have triumphed in 17 of their 21 games so far this season.

And Westcliff’s press officer Geoff Sawyer insists the team know they are in for a difficult game.

“Tonbridge are in the paid ranks and were too good for us at Aviation Way earlier in the year,” said Sawyer.

“They did take time to get going though and we are hoping to do a little better this time.”

Westcliff were beaten 43-10 when the two teams last played.

But the Essex side have improved significantly during the second half of their first ever season in the national leagues.

They have triumphed in two of their last three games and are sticking with the same squad that came very close to beating promotion chasing Bishop’s Stortford last weekend.

Westcliff are currently 10th in the table, seven points above the relegation zone with five games to go.
