ELLIOT Benyon bagged his first goal for Southend United against Accrington Stanley on Saturday but was still left feeling gutted at the final whistle.
Benyon, who joined Blues from Swindon Town in January, came off the bench to put Blues 2-1 up at Roots Hall.
But the striker’s joy was shortlived as 10-man Accrington hit back to secure a 2-2 draw with an injury-time equaliser.
“I’m absolutely gutted and my goal means nothing now,” said Benyon, 24.
“It we’d gone on to win three points then I’d be buzzing but to lose the goal in the way we did so late on in the game is just really disappointing.
“Those two points we dropped could be massive, but we’re still right in the race for promotion and have to keep going.”
