RYMAN ONE NORTH: Rovers remain unbeaten at Potters Bar in five games stretching back to February 2007 following this ill-tempered draw.
Some confusing decisions by the referee did not help, and tempers simmered before erupting during injury time.
New signing Dan Stanley, from Southend Manor, was named in Rovers’ starting line-up and was involved early on as he played in Jack Carlile, and he was brought down as he touched the ball past the keeper.
Supporters expected the referee to point to the spot, but he instead signalled for a corner.
The second half started as the first half ended — with both teams struggling to create decent chances.
And it was not until just past the hour when Joe O’Brian smashed home a free-kick that had Rovers keeper Louis Godwin-Green beaten from the moment it left his boot.
Rovers dominated after that and got their reward when Nick Skelton was fouled inside the penalty area.
Carlile stepped up to place the resulting penalty kick in the bottom left-hand corner to make it 1-1.
Stoppages meant the game over-ran by nearly 15 minutes and it ended with a red card for Anton Agdomar after he fouled Dan Trenkel from behind and then squared up to Rovers’ player-manager.
