THERE is certainly plenty to be thinking about at the moment.
We’ve been trying hard to bolster our squad with loan signings but it’s proving to be very difficult right now.
Teams just don’t want to let their players out at this stage and those we’ve gone for aren’t being allowed to leave either.
We had hoped to maybe bring in one or two new faces before we went to Hereford this weekend.
But right now I don’t hold out much hope of that happening.
It’s a tough scenario because opposing managers aren’t going to be giving us their top goalscorer either.
They will only want to let players go who they’ve fallen out with or who are surplus to requirements and we then have to decide if they will improve our team.
We need to be shrewd about what business we do and we are still mulling over moves for Rowan Vine and Christian Dailly after they both played for the reserves in the week.
Rowan scored the only goal of the game but I’m concerned about his fitness if I’m honest.
He hasn’t played a first team game since September and I will be holding talks with our fitness staff and Graham Coughlan to find out how long it would take to get Rowan match fit.
From there we will make a decision but there aren’t those concerns when it comes to Christian Dailly.
When it comes to running drills he can race away from most of our players and the reserve game proved that he’s really looked after himself.
He’s also someone I know very well having given him his debut at Dundee United when he was only 16.
But if we do decide to sign him then I don’t want supporters to think we’re bringing in a 38-year-old who is past it because that certainly wouldn’t be the case.
I also feel that we now need to make a pubic statement about Bilel Mohsni.
The whole situation has been allowed to drag on for too long now and I will be holding talks with the chief executive again about it all.
Hopefully a press release can then be press released very shortly indeed.
I don’t want to go in to things any further at this stage but Bilel won’t be playing tomorrow and Hereford will be a difficult place for us to go.
They won at Morecambe last weekend and have had some good results recently so I’m expecting them to come out all guns blazing against us.
They’re fighting for their lives and we will want the three points.
But we want to bounce back from drawing against Accrington.
If we had held on at the end we would still be in the top three and would’ve taken seven points out of nine.
We’d then all be saying how well we were doing.
However, that’s the not case and we’re disappointed to have slipped down to fourth in the table.
Torquay are there on merit too because they’ve been on a fantastic run.
They’ve won three of their last four games 1-0 and are churning out results which is what I want us to be doing at this important time of the season.
The injury situation isn’t helping with JP Kalala likely to be out for four to five months and Liam Dickinson five to six while Anthony Grant now serves a two match suspension and will be a big miss.
However, other players will get a chance and it’s up to them to take it.
Elliot Benyon is one of those and he could well get a recall tomorrow.
I thought Accrington was the best performance so far from him and the finish for his goal was one of the best I’ve seen.
He was a highly sought after striker not so long ago and now his fitness is improving I’m hopeful we will start to see more from him.
