IT has been a disappointing week for us after suffering successive 1-0 defeats.

But it’s important to realise we are still very much in the mix.

It wasn’t so long ago that Crawley slipped down the table, four or five points behind the top three.

However, they’ve now won four in a row to return to the automatic promotion places and that’s something we would now love to do.

Things can change very quickly at this level and tomorrow night’s game with Cheltenham at Roots Hall is vitally important.

They have also been going through a sticky patch in the last few weeks and if we are to finish the season in the top three then I think this is a game we need to go and win.

Victory would also take us past 70 points which is a big mental barrier and then we could turn our attentions towards trying to get to 80 which is normally enough for automatic promotion.

We’ve made things hard for ourselves and it was bitterly disappointing to lose, like we did, at Bristol Rovers last weekend.

I thought we were disappointing in the first 45 minutes and were very much second best during that time.

But in the second half we much better and came close to nicking a goal.

It looked like we were heading for a point against an in-form side which would have been a decent result but then the referee gave what I would describe as a very home decision when he awarded them a penalty.

I’m not being malicious when I say that, but I think nine times out of 10 a penalty wouldn’t have been given for that.

After that, we also had a penalty shout right at the end but the referee decided the foul on Ryan Hall happened just outside the area so two big decisions went against us.

CHRISTIAN'S PARKLIFE BOWLED US ALL OVER

REDDY Eastwood hasn’t had to sing yet... but Christian Dailly, left, did at our meal the night before we played Bristol Rovers and he was absolutely outstanding.

He sung Park Life by Blur in a London accent and it was one of the best, if not the best, I’ve ever heard during my whole career.

Christian is one of those annoying people who is good at everything, but he’s a great guy and has had a real positive impact on the dressing room since he’s been here.

It’s a real shame he’s picked up an injury but hopefully he will soon be back and we can end our season on a high.
