I THINK it’s impossible to exaggerate just how important this weekend is going to be for our season.

We don’t want to be putting too much pressure on ourselves – but we will need to get four or six points from the two matches we’re playing (against Bradford City and AFC Wimbledon) to keep alive our chances of automatic promotion.

I still believe that 80 points, or slightly higher, will be enough for a top three finish. And that would mean we need to win four of our remaining six matches, which I think we can do.

These two games we have in quick succession can really make or break us, but we’re going into them on the back of a 4-0 win over Cheltenham, which was exactly what we needed.

It was a great night and the atmosphere took me back to my childhood when I was among those standing on the North Bank.

I’m sure the return of Freddy Eastwood helped bring in a few more fans and they got right behind us.

I’m never sure if the fans respond to the team playing well or if the team get sparked in to life by the supporters but against Cheltenham I thought it was a bit of both.

The decisions went our way for a change and we were able to get back on track.

I think it also gave us a lift at a perfect time and reminded everyone that we’re still a good side.

We will be wanting to show that again when we go to Bradford.

And, despite them being in the bottom five, I would saw they are one of the most organised teams we have played this season.

They just seem to be incredibly inconsistent and they haven’t done well at home so we need to try to take advantage of that.

The good news for us is their two centre-backs, who I personally think are their best players, are both suspended for the game.

After that we face AFC Wimbledon at Roots Hall and it would be brilliant to get another win there.

With it being a Bank Holiday there will again be a good atmosphere inside the ground and we again want to give the fans plenty to cheer about.

We need to be picking up points now more than ever because the league table remains incredibly close and I think it will stay that way until the final weekend of the season.

Team spirit remains incredibly important and it was therefore great timing for us to have a team bonding day earlier in the week.

We went for a meal, had a comedian there and a magician and it was superb.

The lads all mixed together and this proved great away from the atmosphere of training ground and matches.

Now all of our attention has turned towards Freddy because it’s his turn to sing at our pre match meal tonight.

He’s already told us all he’s going to be terrible and we’re therefore looking forward to it even more.
