PAUL Green took the honour of taking the first-ever 30lb-plus carp from Billericay’s Lake Meadows.
He fished an afternoon session and landed a fantastic common of 32lb exactly after using a variety of Nash Baits to tempt the lake record fish.
David Berg fished a 24-hour session at Gloucester Park and landed 29 carp between 10lb and 15lb.
He also landed one tench of 3lb 8oz and three bream up to 4lb.
John Whitmore fished two early morning sessions on the canal stretch; on day one he landed seven carp to 22lb 10oz, and the next day 11 carp to 19lb 4oz.
Over at Northlands Park cafe lake, Mike Spurr fished a six-hour session with red maggot and a maggot feeder and landed seven tench to 7lb.
He also took one carp of 7lb and numerous roach up to 12oz.
On the road lake, the much bigger carp are starting to play ball, and John Edwards landed a 26lb 2oz mirror on Nash Baits’ amber strawberry boilies.
Alan Morrison fished a 36-hour session on the cafe lake and landed 50 carp between 5lb and 15lb 8oz.
He also landed 15 tench to 6lb, and his success came using method feeder and 10mm pellet on the hair.
Gloucester Park matches continue this Sunday, with a meeting at the west end sluice at 7am for a match starting at 8.30am and finishing at 2.30pm.
Normal rod day ticket prices apply, and two keep nets and an unhooking mat are required.
