LEE Daniels decided to take his girlfriend Harriet Taskin for a short evening carp fishing session at Billericay’s Lake Meadows and she went on to land her first ever fish.
Daniels landed a brace of common carp, one weighing 17lb and the other 17lb 4oz.
Basildon anglers Bill Bettell and Zach Hales fished an overnight session on Northlands Park road lake.
Armed with mainline cell boilies and a new nash bait on test, Bettell landed a 20lb 8oz mirror carp and a 21lb 4oz common carp, while Hales caught a 29lb 1oz common carp at the Pitsea water.
Road Lake regular Rob Middleton landed one of the silver sisters, weighing in at 19lb 10oz. And Tyler O’Flynn fished a day session on the Cafe Lake and landed seven carp up to 12lb and four tench up to 7lb.
The first of the evening matches went ahead on the Cafe Lake with a good turn out.
First place went to Mick Noakes with 70lb 5oz. Wayne Candy was second with 18lb 4oz and Alan Halsey was third with 13lb 4oz.
The matches continue tomorrow at Northlands Park. Meet at 5pm for a draw at 5.30pm.
The match starts at 6pm and will finish at 9pm. Day ticket prices will apply.
