THE wild and varied weather has suited Rochford ’s Doggetts with good bags of roach tench and bream being landed from most parts.
The occasional sunny day means those who want to find a few tench will need to be up quite early.
As always, an assortment of baits seem to be essential, with bread on the float and mini boilies in conjunction with a feeder working well.
Peter Cook, from Rayleigh , landed eight good tench plus bream, along with some stunning roach from the south bank. He found the bars the most productive area, with pellet hook bait plus a grounbait feeder.
David Mills, from Southend, carp-fished a night on the long arm and landed two mid-double mirrors plus eleven tench to six pounds, plus bream.
Geoff Abbott was not happy with his night on the long arm so took a chance moving to the north bank which proved to be one of his more successful ideas.
Fishing a Mainline bait, Abbott landed 18 tench, three bream plus two mid-double mirrors and an 18lb common.
Doggetts regular Brad Clemence popped down to the lake for an evening to try his new batch of Eclipse virus boilies, which proved quite successful.
His bag consisted of seven stunning tench, including a fine 8lb specimen, plus a very lively 17lb mirror.
