SOUTHEND’S Jonty Clarke was among the goals as Team GB’s men’s hockey team beat Pakistan 4-1 in the Olympic Games this afternoon.
The 31-year-old struck from close range just before half-time to double his side’s lead after James Tindall had earlier put Britain ahead after just four minutes.
Ashley Jackson made it 3-0 from a penalty corner in the 50th minute and then scored his fourth goal in two games 17 minutes later when he scored in similar fashion.
Pakistan’s Sohail Abbas grabbed a late consolation goal in the last minute of the match but the victory moved Britain on to level points with Australia at the top of pool A.
The two teams will meet at the Riverbank Arena on Sunday.
