THE number one swim on the north bank at Doggetts proved a good hunting ground for Jamie Clean and Lee Coombes.
Clean landed two upper doubles and lost another one, while Coombes landed a superb 21lb 3oz common at the Rochford water.
Southend’s Shane Lewis landed a fine 22lb fully scaled carp and an upper double using Eclipse baits.
Michael Hodby fished the north bank for the first time in years and was pleased with his 24lb pound mirror and a very scrappy double.
Bailiff Anthony Gull had a mid-double from hats swim.
Most carp anglers also landed a good selection of tench while the float fishermen found them a little more difficult to find this week.
But as usual, a small selection of baits assured most of good mixed bags along with some nice perch showing in the margins.
Doggetts was fishing well in the week then a small change in weather on the weekend saw the fishing slow, although the carp were still highly visible.
