ENGLAND star Harry Maguire has heaped praise on former Southend United boss Chris Powell ahead of Tuesday night's Euro 2020 semi-final clash with Denmark.
Powell is now part of Gareth Southgate’s backroom team with the Three Lions.
And Maguire feels Powell has played a key part in England’s passage to the final four.
“Chris has been brilliant around the camp,” Maguire told Sky Sports.
“He’s positive and energetic and in these camps when you’re in between games you can do with those kind of vibes and he brings that.
“He’s been brilliant as a coach but also off the field as well. I’ve seen his goal celebrations and he’s really enjoying them but we’re all huge England fans and all want to win.”
Powell, who also made 290 appearances as a player for the Shrimpers, was manager at Roots Hall for 13 months after taking charge in January 2018.
The 51-year-old has been part of the England coaching set up since September 2019.
