AMAZING photos show just how deserted the streets around Southend, Leigh and Shoebury were during England's Euro 2020 quarter final clash with Ukraine.
The Three Lions stormed into the semi-finals of Euro 2020 with a victory in Rome on Saturday night.
The clash in Rome pulled in a peak TV audience of 20.9 million on the BBC which is 82 per cent of available viewers.
It also received 5.2 million live streams across BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport online.
And it appears the majority of south Essex residents were inside watching the big game on the box - either at home or at the pub.

Essex Police's Southend team posted a series of photos of Facebook showing just how quiet the streets were during the big game.
They said: "Our Officers and PCSO's are out on patrol this evening, the streets are deserted across Southend, Leigh and Shoebury.
"Seems everyone is indoors watching the football."
Essex Police put on extra patrols to deter any possible trouble during the game or in the aftermath.
Residents were encouraged to enjoy the game sensibly and not go over the top.
England will play Denmark in the semi final at Wembly on Wednesday.
Gareth Southgate's team are now just two wins away from taking home the trophy.
