AFTER enjoying eight years of almost unrelenting success under Sam Allardyce, Bolton have endured a season of turmoil following their former manager's departure.

After securing consecutive top-ten finishes and securing a place in this season's UEFA Cup, Wanderers appointed Allardyce's assistant Sammy Lee as his replacement, but he lasted just 11 matches before leaving the club.

Former Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom manager Gary Megson arrived in his place, much to the derision of Trotters fans.

And the supporters' fears have been realised as Wanderers have lurched from one poor set of results to another under Megson, with only a run to the UEFA Cup last-16, including victory over Atletico Madrid, brightening the gloom at the Reebok Stadium.

The club also angered fans by selling star striker Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Currently on a run of 10 games without a win, that decision looks like coming back to haunt the Lancashire club, who sit 18th in the Premier League table, four points from safety.

Left-back Ricardo Gardner (broken rib) and goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen (back) are both severe doubts for tomorrow's match.
