AS revealed exclusively by the Echo last Thursday, teenager Jack Collison had been handed his full first team debut in West Ham's Premier League clash at Bolton Wanderers this afternoon.
The Wales Under-21 international was given a start in midfield in place of the absent Nobby Solano.
Collison's only previous first team action came as a first half replacement for the injured Freddie Ljungberg at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium on New Year's Day.
Captain Lucas Neill missed just his fourth game of the season with a twisted ankle, with Jonathan Spector moving to right-back and stand-in skipper Matthew Upson returning to the centre of defence.
Teenagers Freddie Sears and James Tomkins were again named among the substitutes.
