AS if West Ham did not have enough to worry about at Old Trafford on Saturday, Manchester United look likely to welcome back Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic for the vital Premier League clash.
Both striker Rooney and central defender Vidic missed Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League semi-final second-leg win over Barcelona through injury.
However, Red Devils manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that the pair should both be fit after recovering from hip and head injuries respectively.
Ferguson added that left-back Patrice Evra should also be fit despite being carried off on a stretcher late on against the Catalans.
"Patrice got a real bang on the head but I'm sure he'll be alright for Saturday," the United boss told MUTV.
"Vidic may be okay too, but that's in the doctor's hands.
"After getting the knock against Chelsea on Saturday, Wayne was in real pain on Monday.
"I made the decision not to risk him (against Barcelona) because if I had to then substitute him early in the match it could really have affected us, so I went with a front two of (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Carlos) Tevez.
"Wayne has got a big chance (of being fit for West Ham). He'll be alright for Saturday."
United, who were beaten 2-1 at Upton Park in December and have lost their last three encounters with the Hammers, need to win their two remaining matches - against the Irons and at Wigan - to retain the Premier League title.
Last weekend, the Reds went down 2-1 at Chelsea to allow the Blues to pull level with them on 81 points, although United's goal difference is better by 16.
And despite the setback, Scottish midfielder Darren Fletcher is confident that Ferguson's men have enough left in the tank to keep their crown.
"It was a disappointing result (at Chelsea) and it puts a bit of pressure on us," he said.
"But the positive we must take is that it's still in our hands, and if we concentrate and win our last two games, we will win the league."
