WEST Ham supporters can join goalkeeper Robert Green on his charity trek up Mount Kilimanjaro - but only if they can raise £3,000 for the AMREF charity.

Green will spend time in Kenya working on community projects to help improve the health of poor residents before heading to Tanzania to climb Africa's highest mountain at the end of June.

The 28-year-old said plans for his trip were going well, with the stopper having already raised more than £5,300 towards his £10,000 target.

"I've got a couple of charity things coming up, a golf day and 5-a-side tournament to raise some cash," Green told the Echo.

"And then I've got a month in the sun before I go back to Africa. I'm going on holiday with my family to Mexico so that's quite high up in parts so that will good to get some altitude training in.

"It's something I'm really looking forward to."

Ten places for fellow fundraisers are available alongside Green on his trek, but only to people who can collect more than £3,000 for AMREF.

Anyone who can do so, is up for the challenge and is physically fit should call Freya Larsen on 020 7269 5528 or email f.larsen@amrefuk.org.

For the less adventurous, Green has organised two fundraising events closer to home.

The first, the GK Open golf day, will take place on the International Course at the London Club in Kent, the home of the 2008 European Open, on Wednesday, May 7.

Alongside the Irons keeper will be Tottenham's Paul Robinson, Aston Villa's Scott Carson, Marcus Hahnemann of Reading, Charlton's Nicky Weaver, Sunderland's Craig Gordon and Manchester United's Ben Foster.

The event will see 15 teams of three players each play a round with one of the goalkeepers, with prizes to be won for the best. A charity auction will also be held.

Entry costs £1,500 per team of three. For more information, email Craig Pollard at c.pollard@amrefuk.org Finally, the Boleyn Cup five-a-side tournamant will be held at Upton Park on Monday, May 12.

There, 20 squads of eight players each will battle it out for the Boleyn Cup, with teams allowed to use the dressing rooms and tunnel and trophies and prizes awarded to the winners.

The cost of entry is £1,000 a team.
